UNM ART MUSE/ZINE, Student Advisory Council

Spring 2024 + Fall 2024
Univerisity of New Mexico Art Museum

In 2024 I led the UNMAM Student Advisory Council through two projects. The scope of both projects was to create a published zine that allowed students in SAC to conduct exploratory and multidisciplinary research through art making, text and visual based research.

Students in SAC were encouraged to research artists, artistic techniques, themes, and topics inspired by UNMAM’s spring exhibition Hindsight Insight 4.0. The completed zine serves as a student reflection of the exhibition, one that exists outside of UNMAM’s institutional voice.

In the Fall of 2024, SAC again visited the project but this time with new participants, new research, and a new exhibition to pull inspiration from — Hindsight Insight 5.0.

BioSymposium: at the intersection of Art + Science + Technology

November 2024
UNM Art Museum, UNM Office Vice President for Research, Research Discovery Week

BioSymposium was a research showcase I organized and produced at UNMAM, in collaboration with UNM Research & Discovery Week 2024, and the UNM Office of the Vice President for Research.

Exploring themes and concepts from UNMAM’s exhibition, Hindsight Insight 5.0, BioSymposium brought together artists, researchers, and those on the forefront of creative exploration at the University of New Mexico.  This symposium aimed to create a space for current UNM students, faculty, and staff to present their research and to discover the vast worlds of biology, art, science, technology, and their respective intersections.

Artist and UNM Professor Emerita, Basia Irland, was the keynote speaker of the symposium, with presentations by Dr. Chanee Choi, Blair Mirka, and Dustin Roberto

Touch Screen System

August - December 2024
University of New Mexico Art Museum

For the exhibition Hindsight Insight 5.0, I developed and designed a custom interactive touch screen system, and digitized a 19th century album.

Visitors could use this system to discover and explore high-quality digital images of a 19th century album of microscopic photographs of the natural world.
